Her responsibilities will include teaching Concert Band 2, being a woodwind specialist, assisting with brass classes as well as assisting with Symphonic Winds and Concert Band 1. Prior to teaching at Hays, Mrs. Neugent taught at Rushing Middle School here in Prosper ISD for the past 3 years. Under her direction, the Concert Band 1 was named the Grand Champion of the North Texas Festival of Distinction and received 1st division ratings at UIL. Prior to her time at Rushing, Mrs. Neugent was the Assistant Band Director at Cross Timbers Intermediate where she taught the beginning Woodwinds for the T.A. Howard Middle School & Summit High School Band programs. Both groups were selected to perform at the 2017 Midwest International Clinic where Mrs. Neugent was a feature soloist with her husband’s band. Both programs also went on Prior to CTIS, she taught elementary music in Irving ISD and has served as a Colorguard Director and flute private lesson instructor for the past 17 years. Mrs. Neugent is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in Flute Performance. While at UNT, she was a member of the UNT Wind Symphony under the direction of Eugene Migilaro Corporon. Mrs. Neugent was a student of Dr. Mary Karen Clardy and also a member of the Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Anshel Bruselov. Mrs. Neugent was a member of the L. D. Bell High School Band under the direction of her father, Joseph Grzybowski. She is a native of Royal Oak, Michigan where her father was a band director and her mother was a private flute teacher before moving to Texas in 1984. Mrs. Neugent is a member of TMEA, TBA and SAI. Nicki resides in Prosper, TX with her husband Nathaniel the Director of Bands at Rock Hill High School in Prosper. His responsibilities include teaching beginner brass classes, directing the Concert Band, and assisting with beginner percussion, Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. Prior to his move to Prosper ISD, Mr. Brooks spent three years as an Assistant Band Director at Carroll Middle School, Durham Intermediate, and Eubanks Intermediate where he taught beginner brass classes and the Concert Band. Under his direction, the Concert Band received consistent Superior Ratings at both UIL and the North Texas Festival of Distinction. Mr. Brooks graduated from Lewisville High School in Lewisville ISD. During his time at Lewisville HS, the marching band received consistent Superior Ratings at the UIL Marching Competition and were Area Qualifiers. The Concert Bands received consistent Superior Ratings at UIL Concert and Sight Reading. Mr. Brooks went on to study Music Education at Texas Woman’s University. During his time at TWU, he was a member of the TWU Wind Symphony under the direction of Dr. Carter Biggers. Mr. Brooks was a student of Dr. Cory Rom and was a member of the Trombone Choir and Jazz Band. During his time at TWU, the Wind Symphony went on to perform at the Collegiate Band Directors National Association and Trombone Choir to perform at the Texas Music Educators Association. His time at TWU was concluded by student teaching at R.L. Turner High School and DeWitt Perry Middle School in CFB ISD. Mr. Brooks joined the Army in December of 2015. In his time of being in the Army, he has held the job of Drill Sergeant, Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, and is now an Army Bandsman with the 395th Army Band. Outside of teaching and the Army, Mr. Brooks also performs in the Dallas Brass Band. The Dallas Brass Band is a British style brass band that performs in the Championship Section which is the top section for Brass Bands in North America. In 2025, The Dallas Brass Band was awarded 3rd place at the North American Brass Band Association Championships which placed them as the 3rd best brass band in North America. In 2025, the DBB started their Youth Brass Band Initiative. Mr. Brooks was selected as the conductor of the Middle School Band for the Dallas Youth Brass Band. The Youth Band Program works to provide students grades 7-12 music opportunities through Clinic and Concerts through out the year and a Summer Institute. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and North American Brass Band Association. Her responsibilities at Hays include teaching beginner woodwind classes, directing Concert I and Jazz Band, and assisting with Symphonic Winds and Concert II Band. Prior to her move to Prosper ISD, Mrs. Pritchett spent five years as the Assistant Band Director at Faubion Middle School. Her groups consistently received Superior ratings during her time in McKinney ISD. Mrs. Pritchett graduated from L.D. Bell High School in HEB ISD. During her time at L.D. Bell, the Marching Band was named BOA Grand National Champions and Silver Medalists at UIL State Marching Contest. Mrs. Pritchett went on to study Music Education at Texas Christian University. During her time at TCU, she studied saxophone with Joe Eckert and was involved in the TCU Symphonic Band, Saxophone Choir, Saxophone Quartet, and Jazz Band. She was also a member and section leader of the TCU Marching Band, which performed at many venues including the Rose Bowl, the Poinsettia Bowl, and the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. Her time at TCU was concluded by student teaching at Hebron High School and Killian Middle School. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association. As a performer, he is always looking for new ways to bring different disciplines within art together to create holistic experiences. Alvariño has recently accepted a position in Prosper, TX as a percussion specialist in the Prosper ISD schools. As an educator, Alvariño uses his extensive experience in the Marching Arts as well as contemporary percussion to provide his students with the skills necessary for them to enjoy the opportunities that he himself has. His unique style focuses on the person before the player to ensure that the love of music and the process comes first. Alvariño is currently the Percussion Supervisor River City Rhythm and has been with them since 2020. He received his Mater’s Degree in Percussion Performance at Baylor University and his Undergraduate degrees in Music Education and Percussion Performance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During Alvariño’s time at UMAss, he spent four years with the Cavaliers Drum Corps in Rosemont, IL as a snare drummer and acted as the section leader of the drum line in his last two years.
